Third International Sociodrama Congress - First Sociopsicodrama Encounter

Dear friends and colleagues:

As the organizers of the International Sociodrama Congress that will take place in Patagonia Argentina in September 2010, for thus it was decided during the previous Congress in Stockholm and Helsinky, we have been carefully considering what is to be done about the overlapping dates of the Psychodrama and Group Processes to be held in Brazil.

Having posted the first announcement of our dates during the Ibero-American Congress on the 1st of May, 2009 in Quito, Ecuador; taking into consideration that we already have colleagues that have signed up to participate and that we also have economic obligations to keep, we have given due thought to various requests to change the dates and have arrived at the following conclusions.

We are considering, therefore, this simultaneity as a co-unconscious phenomena built up over many years of continuous and creative work, developing conscious or uncounscious relationships through a deep Tele process already described by Moreno and manifesting synchronically in two different places:
1) Psychodrama and Group Processes in Sao Paulo, Brazil,
2) Sociodrama in Patagonia, Argentina.

As we all know, we are now going through a very special social and political moment wordwide. Cooperation and encounter are fundamental from the "Who shall Survive" point of view.

And here, a great possibility of working together is being offered to us: connecting both our realities - and with the help of the technical facilities of the Internet - we have the opportunity of making Moreno's dream come true: to work on-line, together, for a humankind in need of bonding and strong relationships beyond distances and actual venues.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a totally positive construction out of something apparently very difficult to resolve, by simply changing the protagonists point of view regarding the circumstances, which in this case happen to be the two different events in two places at the same time.

Right now we are happy about this sharing, we are ready to work for cooperation, solidarity and harmony, we are willing to put together diversity in order to produce unity, including the presence of the whales and other species as well.

From this perspective, we invite you to participate in either event, with their differences, similarities and complementarities, but always keeping in contact.

Thus, maybe this little Patagonian Congress and the big Congress in our brother country Brazil, can jointly bring creativity and affection, and allow us to keep on growing together.

We also propose that in any other place in Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania or anywhere else in the world, those of you who cannot come to any of the two events, get together and conform your own matrix working in "Psychodrama and Group Processes" like in Brazil, or in "Sociodrama and Sociopsychodrama" like in Patagonia, Argentina.
We can then share the work on-line or afterwards.

The invitation from the whole organizing team - therefore - stands:
Let us use our knowledge and method as an instrument to help and collaborate with those who need it. Following the models set up by "Escenas de los Pueblos" (Scenes of the People), a movement that happened during the last crisis in Argentina which invoved several workshops occuring simultaneously in diverse places and countries; or "A Più Voci" (More Voices), a movement that begun in the region of the "Lago de Iseo" that involves open psico-sociodrama meetings, organized originally by the "Cooperativa Il Germoglio" together with many other psicodramatists.

Welcome

The First International Sociodrama Conference was held in Portugal out of an intuition felt by Manuela Maciel and her team of sociodramatists, and was called “Transparent looks”.

The Second Conference was named “Society’s Shadows” and was held in Stockholm and Helsinki. During the closing session it was decided that the next one would be held in Patagonia- Argentina, a place of beginnings, where the whales dwell.

It is about gathering to work, to discover and to study. Those who participate will be able to present their thoughts put into action, share their reflexions and the possibilities they recognize in Sociodrama.

The number of participants is limited, for during the conference it is expected to create a space where everybody can meet, get to know each other and share.
